Are you thinking about selling your house? Are wondering when is the best time to put your house on the market? I have sellers ask me the best time of year to sell their home and my answer is there is not a bad time. Many think that during the holidays are not a great season to sell a home but here are 11 reasons to not wait until later:
1. If buyers are looking for a home during the holidays, they tend to be very serious.
2. There are fewer homes on the market in winter and that means less competition and more money for you!
3. Prices may go down in the new year because there is more supply.
4. Houses show better and are more inviting when they are decorated for the holidays.
5. The cheerful holiday mindset may make buyers more open to your price and terms.
6. Many buyers have more time to dedicate to hunting for a home during the holiday break.
7. Some buyers may have to buy before the end of the year for tax reasons.
8. Employees that are relocating and starting in January are looking for homes now.
9. Showings can be scheduled to allow you to still enjoy your holidays uninterrupted.
10. You can sell now while demand is high but delay closing and/or occupancy until early next year.
11. Sell now when the prices are high and the competition (supply) is low and buy your next home in the Spring when you have more to choose from and prices may be lower.
